The company in charge of selling advertising space in the Shanghai metro has a name that seems to attract my eye even more than the actual advertisement.
It’s hard to appreciate the value of any product brought to you by “STD.”
One of my favorite places in Shanghai is my local imported grocery store and cafe called City Shop. City Shop get a lot of things right, although I’m not sure what they intended with this sign advertising a German event:
I’m a big fan of City Shop but I’m not sure a mere grocery store possesses the ability to stage “Various Activities Continues to Fascinate.”

Wow…where have I been? I didn’t realize you lived there. I was just there two weeks ago and am just getting to writing about it on my blog. Crazy place! What do you do there? How do you like the street food? I found Shanghai to be really interesting and I really loved eating at Lost heaven near the bund. Yet it is a little too crowded for my taste. I would love to see the rural parts of China. That is more my style.

PS….how do you access wordpress? Do you use a proxy? When I was in China my site was blocked as was Facebook. The internet is so slow too. I heard you can sometimes access things better on your phone. Curious to hear about that….

If you use a translation website to translate from English to another language back to English, then the translated English is often very different from the original. It’s like playing “Telephone” all by yourself.
