That Film is so Gay

Hollywood loves to re-make movies.  The first Spider-Man film premiered in 2002, and after three films they are already rebooting the series with an entirely new cast set to debut in 2012.

The movie, A Star is Born, is now being re-made for the fourth time.  The first film came in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor.  Judy Garland’s version followed in 1954.  Barbra Streisand made her mark in 1976, and a new version starring Beyonce Knowles and directed by Clint Eastwood will debut next year.

What I can’t understand is why A Star is Born deserves four versions, but for some reason the Hollywood of today has shown no interest in re-making any of the following films:

The Gay Vagabond (1941)

The Gay Shoe Clerk (1903)

The Gay Falcon (1941)

The Gay Cavalier (1946)

The Gay Dog (1954)

Felix the Gay Dog (1921)

The Great Gay Road (1920, 1931)

The Gay Masquerade (1958)

The Gay Deception (1935)

The Gay Sisters (1942)

The Gay Lord Quex (1917, 1919)

The Gay Parisian (1941)

The Gay Divorcee (1934)

Give these films another chance, Hollywood.  I’m no marketing expert, but I have a hunch that a 2012 version of The Gay Deception would generate all sorts of free publicity.
