I spotted this jewelry box and thought it might make a good parting gift to a friend you wanted to cut loose:
The implied finality of the statement makes it a perfect parting gift. ‘I wish our friendship could last for ever,’ but it can’t, so enjoy this jewelry box while you’re getting over it.
The statement on the notebook below might seem familiar to any movie fans:
You might remember this quote from the end of the movie The Shawhank Redemption. This is a paraphrasing of the message Andy leaves Red. Shawshank is a great movie, but the content is pretty rough and not exactly the message I would expect to be prominently displayed on a notebook for kids.

I think Hallmark should come up with “I wish our marriage could last forever” cards…might make Splitsville a little easier to swallow.
And “no good thing never dies” has kept me thinking for quite some time this morning.
Hope you are finding some relief from your pain.

Hey, Katy, I’ve designed a lovely greeting card about selling your wedding ring on eBay if you’re interested. I’ll take five bucks for it.

If you like I could draft a “best before” sticker for your marriage licence. Just send me the date you’d like put on.

I’ve been married for almost 33 years, I’m not sure what date I would use…but it would be an interesting bridal shower gift…

A little self-adhesive card with “best before” printed on it and one of those selectable date stamps and an ink pad! I think I’ll buy up “BestBefore.com”!

If I remember correctly, Andy Dufresne kept his rock hammer in the Fruit Girl box and his notebook is where he stole the whole “hope” speech, that he eventually gave to Red.
It’s in the deleted scenes.

I think you could write an entire post on quotes from Shawshank that probably shouldn’t be on kids’ notebooks…

I love the Mash army font used for Fruit Girl. Nothing says small girls toy like a mobile army surgical hospital during the Korean War. Does it play “Suicide is Painless” when opened?
