This picture comes from the convenience store outside our housing complex:
“This is the most comfortable notebook
you have ever run into.
You will feel like writing with it all the time.”
Seems like a lofty promise for a notebook to make, but I’m willing to give it a try. I’m constantly looking for ways to motivate myself to write more and maybe notebook comfort was the missing ingredient.
Here’s a product I bet your local supermarket doesn’t offer:
I haven’t tried ‘Sponge Crunch’ yet, but I’m intrigued by the seemingly paradoxical consistency.

Maybe they’re like Rice Krispie Treats w/ marshmallows…snap, crackle, pop and gooey.

Can you send me one of those notebooks…I already feel like writing all the time (mostly when I should be doing other things, like working). Maybe then I would actually write all the time instead of just feeling like it.
Oh, and I have some rather crunchy sponges under my kitchen sink – I hope that was not the inspiration for that particular snack treat.
Just curious, can you get crunchy Cheetos there (not the nasty puffed up ones).

You can get the good Cheetos at the imported food store for a zillion dollars and the local Chinese stores have a bad alternative version.

Re; Sponge Crunch…That’s why those Japanese guys are so clever. It’s a crunch when eaten dry, and more spongy when eaten wet, like with milk or beer.

Let us know how the writing with the comfortable notebook goes. I have always looked for a “comfortable” notebook to use…what with all the “uncomfortable” ones out there on the mkt.
PS: Have you bought some of the sponge crunch? Did you taste it? Just curious.

I gotta get me one of them notebooks. Do you have to run into it though? I’d just like to stop by and purchase one. I’m lazy I guess, but that’s why I really need that notebook.

Man, I hope those are sea sponges, and crunchy due to preparation. I think my wife has some crunchy sponges in the kitchen – but I wouldn’t touch those with a 10 foot pole. Or a 7 foot German (for those times when you don’t have a 10 foot Pole).

Mmmmm… Sponge Crunch. Crunchy on the outside; spongy on the inside.

The importance of a comfortable notebook is highly underrated. I actually scared a colleague once with the enthusiasm to which I responded to a notebook she gave me – with matching pens, I might add. My response went something like, “It’s so pretty! It has a wide spiral ring so the pages don’t get stuck together! And you can neatly tear out the pages! Oh my GOD. There. Are. POCKETS!”

Writing with a notebook? I find writing with a pen works better…….

For some reason I was thinking this was some sort of cereal.
Upon further investigation I’ve discovered… I have… no idea… what this is…

I’m with SIG, I thought it looked like Cracklin Oat Bran… then I thought it looked like grilled hamburger doughnuts, which caused me to grimace with disgust. Blech.
And I second what GardenMad said … I find writing with a pen works better. Though in the south some call it a “pin”. (Pins don’t work well for writing. Just FYI.)

Cracklin Oat Bran! Good stuff. Sometimes I break a tooth eating it, but it’s so worth it.

I would SO buy that notebook. I have a stack of notebooks that I bought at a Japanese store in NY. In fact, right next to me is a notebook that claims “Most advanced quality. Gives best writing features.” I am a sucker for non-American stationary.

I’ve still got two of those I bought
1. “This notebook is excellent quality and royal to learn. Put pen to this paper.”
2. “Dear My Frieand Close you eves and reat wearzry mind, I promese I will stoy right here deside you.”
I should scan in a pic so you know I’m not making this up.

The snack looks like sponge toffee covered in a thick syrupy soya sauce.
By the way, I’ve given you an award. Read all about it here… http://hoaiphai.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/today-the-versatile-blogger-award-tomorrow-the-stars/

I get the whole concept of a comfortable notebook. This coming from the girl who plays Big Spoon to her composition folder.

It is much better to have a comfortable notebook if one is going to run into it. Maybe they can redo my furniture to be easier on my toes, etc. Let me know how the snack goes. I’ll stick with my usual.

That is funny! I have totally seen that notebook before. Talk about marketing… 🙂
