The product below appears to be a package of sanitary wipes.
I assume the sanitary wipes can be used for many sanitation purposes, although the brand name “ddung” does seem to suggest a fairly specific use.
The next product wasn’t found in China, but was actually found on a Waitrose grocery store shelf in Scotland.
When my friends visit my house and snoop around my medicine cabinet, I would never want them to discover I brushed my teeth with retarDex or any other product that contained the word “retard”. I assume the word “retard” is not as sensitive a word in Britain as it is in the United States, so this may not be funny to any other nationality. Maybe also not funny to any Americans who are more mature than I am.

Check out this week’s caption contest finalists. Don’t forget to vote at least once a day, every day in the caption contest. If you have trouble remembering to vote every day because of your hectic work schedule, have you considered quitting your job and finding a job that doesn’t require you to do any work? If you do find such a job, please tell me about it first so I can check it out for you and make sure it’s not a job for which I’d be a better candidate.

You wouldn’t want them to discover that in your medicine cabinet?
Man, I would. I think I might order some online just to put on display in my medicine cabinet.

I’m sure it won’t be long before it comes to a store near you.

“For the breath of confidence” hmmmmm I never considered that perhaps my “breath” needed some self esteem! How thoughtless of me!!!
One of my Vietnamese employee’s name is “Dung” I think it is “one” d though….

I have the opposite problem; people keep telling me my breath reeks of overconfidence.

You are right there Paul using the word ‘retard’ although mit is a word, it does have ‘not nice’ connotations, especially in modern times. It possibly means that the toothpaste could reverse bad teeth etc but I do think that they should have found a better word
The Good Greatsby

I assume the ‘retard’ is meant to imply it prevents or reverses tooth decay, but if it somehow prevents mental deterioration it might be worth a try.

If it works on mental deterioration, how much to send me a tanker load? That should regain 1 or 2 of the hundred IQ points I’ve lost ……

That was on the shelf right next to retarDEX. I should have taken a picture.

Now if that toothpaste were sold in the US, especially Ohio, it would explain so much. Right, Jamie? 😉
I’m more perplexed by the “ddung” packaging. How would a cute 4-year-old girl pop up in ANY context relating to “sanitary wipes” – except for cleaning up after one. And I totally agree, with a product name like “ddung”, there is pretty much only one use conceivable….

There does seem to be a disconnect between the cute 4-year-old girl and ‘ddung’.

Maturity is overrated if it prevents you from enjoying so many opportunities for humor.

lol… that is a childs product silly! Although I suppose I can see where you would see the possible insanity. Still, that is a doll franchise that is super ahrd to get here (Canada) but very popular with tween girls. it’s a DeeDee doll. haha… the wipes are likely wipes either to clean up after (pretending to be mommy) or to clean the doll itself. Uncertain. But the packaging is definately part of a bigger picture 😉
The toothpaste though… omgosh, that is wrong on so many levels. lol…
The Good Greatsby
September 5, 2011
It’s possible the wipes are meant for a doll, but the name ‘ddung’ and the fact that it was sold at a convenience store still makes me prefer the alternative explanation.

I feel sad for that poor little girl on the package, pleading for someone, anyone, to think she’s cute. I guess being named Ddung hasn’t helped her self-esteem.
